Issuu + Awareness Ties Partner to Celebrate Heroes and Increase Coronavirus Awareness

Digital Storytelling in a Limited Physical World

Throughout history, it is common to celebrate the human stories and accomplishments that arise in the midst of the world’s major challenges— be it a natural disaster, wars, recessions— or as is the case today, a global pandemic. Of course this global challenge has been unlike any before, forcing people to shelter-in-place and severely limit physical interactions. We already live in a highly digital world, and now the majority of our interactions are beholden to internet connectivity and the platforms that enable us to make video calls, post, tweet or distribute content. Issuu is proud to enable storytelling and content to connect with on our platform and celebrates our community of content creators trying to make a difference in the world today.

Issuu is proud to partner with Awareness Ties™, the ‘Official Symbol of Support for Causes’, a social impact platform that raises awareness for causes, while providing resources for the general public and funding for nonprofits. To respond to the Coronavirus pandemic, Awareness Ties did what they do best—which is tap the power of digital content to build a campaign to create awareness and call for unity. As Allié McGuire, Co-Founder of Awareness Ties sums up, “We decided to honor the Heroes, that was our role. One we are taking very seriously”.

To celebrate the Heroes on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19, Awareness Ties launched a national campaign “Nominate Your Hero” to honor and award Heroes of the pandemic. From the Healthcare workers treating Coronavirus patients to every essential worker, we are surrounded by people who go above and beyond their call of duty.

In this special edition you will enjoy exclusive interviews and interactive videos from the Heroes, tapping the power of Issuu to create a captivating and multimedia reading experience.
